Flame Resistant High Visibility Clothing
High Visibility FR compliant clothing provides protection from flame hazards while on job sites where visually standing out from the background is important. This type of work wear is widely used in the transportation, oil and gas industries, and a safety requirement for many airport, railway and highway workers. Dual hazard hi-vis clothing is compliant with both NFPA 70E Arc Flash standard, as well as NFPA 2112 Flash Fire standard, for dual FR protection against both of these flame hazards. Typically, if any job task requires a flame resistant high visibility clothing layer (outerwear), it is probably required that every other layer of clothing will also need to be flame resistant. OSHA and other safety organizations report that serious injury has occurred from flame incidents where non-compliant garments (e.g., street clothes) were worn underneath FR clothing. Added layers of FR garments can reduce the severity of injuries from flame incidents by increasing flame resistance.
