ANSI Class 2 T-Shirts

ANSI Class 2 Hi-Vis T-Shirts - Type R & Type P

ANSI/ISEA 107 Class 2 is the minimum high-visibility standard required for workers exposed to vehicle traffic moving between roughly 25 and 50 mph, or working in environments with higher-than-normal background distractions — heavy machinery nearby, complex visual surroundings, or reduced lighting. Class 2 garments require a minimum of 775 square inches of fluorescent background material and 201 square inches of retroreflective striping, providing enhanced daytime and nighttime visibility beyond entry-level Class 1 apparel.

Common occupations requiring Class 2 t-shirts include road construction crews, airport ground and ramp workers, municipal and utility workers, parking and toll booth attendants, and warehouse personnel operating near forklifts or other moving equipment. Under federal MUTCD guidance, workers in the right-of-way of a federal-aid highway must wear at least Class 2 high-visibility apparel — Class 3 is required only at higher traffic speeds or in reduced-visibility conditions.

Our Class 2 t-shirt collection includes pocket and no-pocket styles, available in long sleeve and short sleeve, in fluorescent yellow-green and fluorescent orange-red colorways. Look for the Type R designation (required for roadway work per MUTCD) or Type P (public safety applications). Every compliant t-shirt carries a sewn-in label stating the ANSI/ISEA 107 standard, type, and class — verify this label is present and legible before relying on any garment for compliance.

Use the filters on this page to sort by sleeve length, pocket configuration, color, and brand. If your work involves higher-speed traffic or nighttime conditions, see our ANSI Class 3 T-Shirts for maximum visibility coverage instead.
