Construction Vests
Construction Safety Vests - ANSI Class 2 & Class 3
Construction sites combine two visibility hazards at once: moving vehicle and equipment traffic, and dense, visually complex work areas where it's easy for a worker to blend into the surroundings. Our construction safety vest collection covers both ANSI/ISEA 107 Class 2 (the standard for most general construction work at moderate traffic speeds) and Class 3 (required for highway-adjacent work, night shifts, or higher-risk conditions), built specifically for the durability demands of an active job site.
Construction-focused features in this collection include reinforced tool pockets sized for common job-site items (pens, phones, small hand tools), durable mesh and solid polyester fabrics that resist tearing and abrasion from rough materials, and breakaway designs for crews working near heavy equipment or machinery with snag potential. Many styles are available in bulk quantities for outfitting an entire crew at once, with consistent sizing options from small through 5XL.
Use the filters on this page to sort by ANSI class, material, pockets, and brand. For work specifically near moving machinery, see our Breakaway Vests collection, and for document-heavy roles like site supervision or surveying, see our Surveyor Vests collection.

Construction Safety Vests — Frequently Asked Questions
For most general construction work away from high-speed roadways, Class 2 is the standard requirement — it covers traffic speeds up to roughly 50 mph and the visual complexity typical of an active job site. Class 3 becomes necessary for work directly adjacent to highway-speed traffic (above 50 mph), night shifts, or significantly reduced-visibility conditions. Many construction companies standardize on Class 2 for general crew use and stock Class 3 specifically for roadway-adjacent crews or night work, rather than outfitting every worker with the higher class regardless of task.
Effective January 13, 2025, OSHA's updated PPE standard for the construction industry requires that all PPE, including high-visibility vests, properly fit each individual worker. Employers can no longer distribute one-size-fits-all vests from a shared bin and consider it compliant for regularly assigned crew. Oversized or undersized vests can shift, bunch, or obscure reflective tape and reduce actual visibility. This means stocking a range of sizes (commonly S through 5XL) and documenting that each worker received appropriately fitted PPE — worth auditing your current vest inventory against this requirement if you haven't already.
Breakaway vests are recommended specifically for crew members working near moving machinery, conveyors, or equipment with snag potential — cranes, excavators, conveyor systems, and similar equipment present real entanglement risk. For workers whose tasks don't bring them near this type of equipment, a standard closure vest is generally adequate. Given the relatively small price difference, many construction companies choose to standardize on breakaway vests across the entire crew to avoid the complexity of managing two different vest types and ensure consistent protection regardless of task changes during a shift.
For heavy daily wear, prioritize solid polyester or heavier mesh construction over the lightest economy fabrics, since these hold up better against repeated abrasion from tool belts, rough materials, and frequent on/off use. Reinforced stitching at stress points (pocket seams, closures) reduces premature failure. Zipper closures tend to outlast hook-and-loop closures under heavy daily use, since hook-and-loop can accumulate debris and lose grip strength over time. For crews replacing vests frequently due to wear, investing slightly more per vest in durability can reduce total replacement costs and downtime compared to repeatedly buying the cheapest available option.
Most styles in this collection are available in a full size range from small through 5XL, allowing a bulk order to be split across the actual sizes your crew needs rather than defaulting to a single size. Before ordering, measure or survey your crew (or use a standard size chart conversion from existing apparel) to determine an accurate size distribution — this avoids both under-ordering specific sizes and over-ordering sizes that won't be used.
