Machine wash in warm water with mild detergent. Avoid chlorine bleach and fabric softeners — bleach degrades fluorescent dyes and fabric softener can damage retroreflective tape bonding over repeated washes. Tumble dry on low heat or hang dry. Do not iron directly over retroreflective tape. Inspect garments regularly — a faded fluorescent background or peeling/cracked retroreflective tape no longer meets ANSI performance requirements and the garment should be replaced. Garments that have been contaminated with grease, oil, or chemicals should be inspected carefully; some contaminants can reduce retroreflective performance even after laundering.
