Nitrile Gloves
Nitrile Dipped Work Gloves - Coated Grip & Chemical Resistance for Industry
Nitrile dipped work gloves differ fundamentally from disposable nitrile gloves: they are reusable, durable work gloves built from a knit liner shell (nylon, polyester, or cut-resistant fiber) with a nitrile coating applied to the palm, fingers, or full-hand to deliver grip, abrasion resistance, and varying degrees of chemical resistance. The nitrile dip coating is what distinguishes these from standard coated cotton gloves — nitrile is more resistant to oils, greases, fuels, and many industrial chemicals than latex or PVC coatings, and provides a reliable grip in both wet and dry conditions without the allergenic potential of natural rubber latex.
The coating type determines the primary use case. Smooth nitrile dip provides a close, tactile coating suited for precision assembly, electronics handling, and light industrial work where fine dexterity and touch sensitivity are needed. Foam nitrile (micro-foam or breathable foam dip) is the most widely used configuration in general industrial work — the open-cell foam structure provides grip comparable to smooth dip in dry conditions but with significantly better grip in wet conditions because the foam compresses and creates a near-vacuum seal against wet surfaces, and it's more breathable than a solid dip. Sandy nitrile uses a textured, particle-embedded surface that provides the most aggressive grip in oily, wet, and contaminated surfaces where smooth or foam dip would slip — favored in metalworking, automotive, and heavy industrial applications.
Many nitrile dipped gloves in this category also carry ANSI/ISEA 105 cut resistance ratings (A1–A6), making them dual-purpose: a single glove providing both cut protection via the liner and chemical/oil resistance via the nitrile dip. Styles include the Majestic WatchDog and Cut-Less KorPlex™ series (A2–A6, various dip configurations), Portwest cut-resistant nitrile palm styles, and PIP's broad nitrile dipped range. Brands stocked include Majestic Glove, PIP, Portwest, and Global Glove. Use the filters to sort by ANSI cut level, coating type, brand, and size.

Nitrile Dipped Work Gloves — Frequently Asked Questions
Nitrile dipped work gloves (this category) are reusable gloves with a structural knit liner — nylon, polyester, or cut-resistant fiber — with a nitrile coating applied to the palm and fingers for grip and protection. They are designed for repeated use across a workday or multiple shifts before replacement. Disposable nitrile gloves (the Disposable Gloves category) are thin, single-use gloves made entirely from a nitrile polymer film, designed to be discarded after a single task or shift and sold in cases of 1,000. The choice depends on the task: where contamination control, hygiene, or chemical contact isolation drives the need, disposable is appropriate; where grip, cut resistance, durability, and repeated-use economics are the priority, dipped work gloves are the better choice.
Smooth nitrile is a solid, thin dip that provides a close, tactile fit suited for precision work and light dry or lightly oily applications. Foam nitrile (or micro-foam nitrile) uses an open-cell sponge structure that compresses against wet and oily surfaces to create mechanical suction-style grip — substantially better wet grip than smooth dip, with more breathability. It is the most widely used coating for general construction, warehouse, and industrial work. Sandy nitrile uses a grit-embedded surface for maximum mechanical grip in the most contaminated or oily conditions, where smooth and foam dip would fail to maintain secure purchase. Sandy nitrile is the preferred choice for metalworking, automotive assembly, and heavy industrial applications with persistent oil or grease contamination.
Nitrile provides resistance to oils, greases, fuels, many solvents, and a range of industrial chemicals — significantly better than latex or vinyl at equivalent thickness. However, the thin nitrile coating on most dipped work gloves in this category is engineered primarily for grip and abrasion resistance rather than extended chemical immersion protection. For tasks involving prolonged chemical contact, splash hazards, or immersion in industrial solvents or acids, a dedicated chemical protective glove (heavier nitrile, neoprene, or butyl rubber construction) from the Chemical Splash category is the appropriate choice. These dipped work gloves are appropriate for incidental oil and chemical contact, not sustained chemical immersion.
Yes — many gloves in this collection combine cut-resistant knit liners (using KorPlex™, Dyneema, or other HPPE fibers) with a nitrile palm dip, providing a single glove rated for both ANSI cut resistance (A2–A6) and oil/grease grip. Examples include the Majestic WatchDog series (A2–A6, foam nitrile, sandy nitrile, or polyurethane palm) and the Global Glove Samurai Glove Tuffalene UHMWPE series with various coating options. If cut resistance is the primary specification for your task, see also the dedicated Cut Resistant Gloves category, which includes a wider selection of cut-level-specific styles.
