Enhanced visibility shirts have not undergone this testing or certification — they offer the same bright color for general visibility but cannot be used to satisfy a job site's ANSI compliance requirement.

Enhanced visibility shirts work well for indoor warehouse environments away from vehicle traffic, event staffing and customer-facing roles where the goal is easy staff identification rather than traffic safety compliance, team uniforms for general visibility, and low-risk outdoor work where no specific ANSI class is mandated by regulation or employer policy. They are not appropriate for roadway work, construction sites with vehicle or heavy equipment traffic, or any environment where OSHA or a site-specific safety program requires certified hi-vis apparel.

Many enhanced visibility shirts do include reflective tape or striping for added nighttime or low-light visibility, even though the garment overall isn't tested or certified to ANSI/ISEA 107. Check the individual product description, as reflective tape presence and placement varies by style. Even with reflective tape present, the shirt remains non-ANSI unless it carries the specific certification label — reflective tape alone does not equal ANSI compliance.

Safety yellow-green generally offers the highest daytime visibility, since it contrasts well against most natural backgrounds like grass, trees, and pavement. Safety orange is often preferred in environments with significant green vegetation, such as forestry, landscaping, and roadside brush clearing, where it stands out more distinctly than yellow-green against a green backdrop. Either color provides effective enhanced visibility; the choice often comes down to your specific work environment's background colors and any company branding or uniform color preferences.
