Why don’t y’all make small shirts? -------------------------- REPLY: Thank you for your feedback. ANSI standards require a certain amount of background material for a shirt to be certified as high visibility. The requirement was recently relaxed (ANSI 107-2015) to accommodate workers of smaller stature, reasoning that better fitting clothing is safer than the alternative greater amount of high visibility background material. Many of the brands that Safety Smart Gear carries does now offer size small. Type R “roadway” Class 2 and Class 3 garments have an allowance for a reduced minimum area requirement, but only for the smallest size garment that is offered in a given design. This should allow for better accommodation of garment sizing for smaller workers.
