Work Shirts - Button-Down, T-Shirts & Henleys
Work shirts are typically chosen around three factors: durability for the task, breathability and moisture management for comfort, and the level of formality the job requires. Our collection includes the full range of work shirt styles, each suited to different needs.
Work Shirts — Button-Down, T-Shirts & Henleys
- Uniform Shirts — collared, button-up styles that are more durable than a t-shirt or henley, typically with one or two chest pockets for pens, tools, or small items. Available in short-sleeve (lightweight, for warm conditions) and long-sleeve (added arm coverage and a more professional appearance). The standard choice for technicians, drivers, and field staff who interact with customers or need a more polished look on the job.
- Work T-Shirts — the most versatile option, suitable as a standalone warm-weather shirt or as a base layer under jackets and overshirts in cold weather. Moisture-wicking synthetic blends pull sweat away from the skin and accelerate evaporation, keeping you drier and more comfortable than basic cotton during physical work.
- Henleys — a pullover with a rounded collar and a short button-up placket beneath it, offering a similar comfortable fit to a t-shirt with a slightly more finished look. A popular middle-ground option between a basic tee and a full button-down uniform shirt.
Fabric choice matters as much as style: cotton is breathable and comfortable against the skin but can shrink, wrinkle, and hold moisture against the body during heavy sweating. Polyester and poly-cotton blends add durability, wrinkle resistance, and faster drying, with the tradeoff of slightly reduced breathability compared to 100% cotton. For high-output, high-sweat conditions, look for shirts specifically labeled moisture-wicking, which use synthetic fiber blends engineered to actively pull moisture to the fabric surface for faster evaporation.
Use the filters on this page to sort by style, sleeve length, fabric, and brand. For flame resistant work shirts certified to NFPA 70E and NFPA 2112, see our FR Shirts collection — standard work shirts do not provide arc flash or flash fire protection.

Work Shirts — Frequently Asked Questions
A uniform shirt is a collared, button-up shirt — the most durable and formal of the three, typically with chest pockets, available in short- or long-sleeve. It's the standard choice when a job requires a polished, professional appearance, such as customer-facing technicians or drivers.
A henley is a pullover shirt with a rounded collar and a short button placket at the neckline — more casual than a uniform shirt but slightly more finished than a plain t-shirt, offering a comfortable middle ground.
A t-shirt is the most casual and versatile option — comfortable, breathable, and well-suited as a standalone warm-weather shirt or as a base layer under other clothing in colder conditions.
Breathable fabric allows air to circulate through the material, letting heat and moisture vapor escape rather than trapping it against the body — this is primarily about airflow.
Moisture-wicking fabric actively pulls liquid sweat off the skin and pushes it to the outer surface of the fabric, where it evaporates faster — this is a property of the fiber itself (typically synthetic blends), using capillary action rather than relying on airflow alone. Many performance work shirts combine both properties: a breathable weave structure plus moisture-wicking fiber treatment, for maximum comfort during high-output physical work.
100% cotton is the most breathable and comfortable option against the skin, but it shrinks and wrinkles more readily, and it holds onto moisture rather than wicking it away — meaning a soaked cotton shirt stays wet and heavy during sweaty work.
Poly-cotton blends add wrinkle resistance, faster drying, and better stain/durability performance, with a small tradeoff in breathability compared to pure cotton. For physically demanding or hot-weather work, a poly-cotton blend or a dedicated moisture-wicking synthetic shirt generally performs better over a full shift than 100% cotton.
Yes — lightweight, moisture-wicking work t-shirts and henleys are commonly worn as a base layer under hoodies, sweatshirts, or jackets in cold weather. The moisture-wicking property is especially valuable as a base layer, since it pulls sweat away from the skin even while you're bundled in heavier outer layers, helping prevent the chilled, damp feeling that comes from sweat trapped against the body in cold conditions. Avoid thick cotton as a base layer in cold, active work — it holds moisture and can leave you colder once you stop moving and sweat evaporation slows.
Wash moisture-wicking shirts in cold water with similar fabrics, and avoid fabric softener — softeners leave a coating on synthetic fibers that interferes with the wicking properties built into the fabric. Standard detergent is fine, but skip any "extra soft" or scented additive formulas. Tumble dry on low or air dry; high heat can degrade synthetic fibers over repeated cycles and reduce the garment's performance and lifespan over time.
